Rough in San Francisco: Folsom 2014

I’m delighted that I’ll be presenting at three of the most amazing places in the kink world, on one of the most amazing weekends of the BDSM world, in the center of the Alternative galaxy. That is, in San Francisco, on Folsom weekend, and I’ll be giving 4 classes and one all-day intensive at SF Citadel, BondCon with at The Armory, and at Wicked Grounds, which brings together kink, baked goods, and good strong coffee.

Here’s my schedule, with links to ordering tickets. Please pass the word, order tickets early, and feel free to email or tweet me with any questions you might have (see “Get in Touch” in the upper right corner over there).

Friday Sept 19

2:00 – 3:30 pm: Balloon Bondage BondCon at The Armory ( University) $25

This class is entirely silly. Who says bondage has to be all sombre and romantic? Come see how to use balloons to have colorful fun binding playfully with your bottom.

4:00 – 5:30 pm Coming out Kinky BondCon at The Armory ( University) $20

A lot of kinky folk lead a double life of sorts: a public and professional life with our family, friends, and coworkers, and a secret life cloaked in shadows.

7:30 – 9:30 pm Predicament Play Wicked Grounds $20

You tie them up and then what? How about “watch them squirm?” Predicament play brings the old game of “there is no right answer” to the forefront, and lets the bottom wrestle with choices on their own (or with a partner in predicament). The aim of this class is to help you understand the underpinnings of Predicament Play – the mind side as well as the physical side – so that when you go home you’ll be able to come up with your own predicament scenarios with whatever you have lying around. (Note: not all predicament scenarios require rope, and this class focuses on the predicament part, not the bondage part.)

Saturday Sept 20

Noon – 6:00 pm Rough Body Play Intensive SF Citadel $40 in advance ($50 @door)

Rough Body Play: what does it mean? What does it entail? Is it safe? How do you know what’s OK and what’s dangerous? Where do you start?
Well, if you haven’t started yet – start here! Rough body play is a wide range of BDSM play that is body-on-body; no toys or tools, just close up and personal pain, sensation, and delight.
In this intensive, Roughinamorato will bring together his years running of Rough Crowd (a monthly rough body play workshop in Chicago) and teaching rough body play across the country, into a single day of soup to nuts (well, maybe nuts – we’ll see how it goes) of rough body play, from comprehensive safety, to basic skills, through to class-voted selections on advanced topics running a gamut from backhanding to bastinado to knees to skin torture and more.
No experience is necessary; this is the perfect place to start, yet even the seasoned veterans will likely come away from this with new ideas, techniques, and diabolical plans.

Sunday Sept 21

Enjoying Folsom Street Fair, parties, play, and debauchery!! Wooo!

Monday Sept 22

7:30 – 9:30 pm Violent Displays of Affection: Connection through Rough Body Play Wicked Grounds $20

It’s easy to focus on details of form and technique with rough body play; it’s sensational (in all forms of the word), loud, sometimes there’s even screaming. But the truly powerful part of it is in it’s ability to connect at a deep and primal level. Is smacking your partner just sadistic? Maybe. But when all the pieces line up, it can be romantic, bonding, and extraordinarily powerful.
The raw flow of power exchanged back and forth between a Top and a bottom during rough body play happens viscerally; when you know your play well enough to let technique guide your hands, you can pay attention to the connection, whether it’s raw primal fucking energy, forging a deeper connection, intimacy, the beauty of power exchange, or even just fun and laughter in coming together to let go. Tears of pain mingle with tears of joy, violence and tenderness blur together, and something deep and special can happen.
